Alibag has a lot of resorts. The range is wide and the quality varies considerably. If you're trying to choose well, here's what actually matters.
1. Real Beach Access
"Near the beach," "beach-facing," "beach view" and "beachfront" can all mean different things. Ask specifically: "Can guests walk directly from the property to the beach?" Sachu's Resort is beach-touch — guests walk from the resort directly to Sasawane Beach, with nothing in between.
2. Food Quality and Inclusion
On a short holiday, food logistics matter. In quieter parts of Alibag like Sasawane, restaurants aren't always close. Sachu's Resort has an on-site restaurant serving homemade Konkani food — available to order during your stay. Having food available on the property matters more than it sounds.
3. A Pool
The sea isn't always swimmable in Alibag. Tides, currents and monsoon conditions can make sea swimming inadvisable on any given day. A pool gives you a reliable swim option. Particularly important if travelling with children.
4. Honest Descriptions
Be cautious of resorts that describe a public beach as "private," or claim sea views from rooms that aren't sea facing. Read recent Google reviews from actual guests — usually the most reliable signal.
5. Small vs. Large Properties
A large resort has more amenities and usually more activity. A smaller property is quieter and more personal. Sachu's Resort is small by design — limited rooms, calm even when full.
6. Location Relative to the Ferry
If you're coming from Mumbai by ferry, the landing point is Mandwa jetty. Properties near Mandwa or Sasawane (10 minutes from Mandwa) are more convenient than those 30–40 minutes away near Nagaon or Kihim — especially if catching a return ferry on Sunday afternoon.

What to Avoid
- Properties with very recent 5-star review spikes — can indicate fake reviews.
- Listings that use "private beach" for a public beach. Ask directly.
- Places where food isn't included and the nearest restaurant is far.
- Resorts significantly cheaper than competitors with no clear explanation.
